An antenna is important to a cell phone. The antenna affects the quality of communication. The antenna is made smaller and smaller, but when a company makes a small antenna and still considers its quality, that will be a challenge. In order to get a strong signal, the antenna is always long and big, but today the technology emphasizes ingenious designs; that is a trend. The electric products have become smaller and smaller. If a product is small and includes several functions like a computer, the product will be popular, such as iPhone4; the iPhone4 is not only a cell phone, but also a portable computer. In my opinion, this article is about the antenna, but I think the real meaning is to imply the trend of technology.

This article describes the development of solar cell. Many companies are studying and competing for how to increase the efficiency in solar cells. In order to save the cost, the solar cells are becoming smaller and smaller. This can not bring huge profits but also alleviate the risk of decreasing resources.

I have taken the class which is about solar cells in university; the class talks about the theory and process of solar cells. A solar cell uses a silicon plate to be its base, then is coated with several metals and semiconductors, and that makes it absorb the sunlight; it will produce electric current, the translation rate is about 15%; to increase the efficiency is the most important goal.
The risk of resources has been becoming an important issue. In order to save resources, the research of alternative energy has become popular; one kind of alternative energy is the solar cell. The principle is to combine different dielectric materials which make the solar cell absorb lights and produce electricity. Although the research is proceeding, I think it will be a trend to become a new energy.
